My turn for a TV thread
I'm in the market for a new TV and will be looking for one very shortly. I did a little pre-browsing and I came across one I really like. I would like to know if anyone has any experience with the brand or even the model of the TV.
Insignia® - 37" Class / 1080p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV - NS-L37Q-10A
It's in my price range, has the 37" screen, 1080p, and it's 16hz.
My question about those numbers is... Are they good for me to just watch TV, play some video games, and watch the occasional movie?

I would go with this guy:

Samsung - 37" Class / 1080p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV - LN37B550
It has pretty much similar specs but is a Samsung and looks far better. I would stay away from the brand X TV.
Edit: I am an idiot I misread the price, it's about $200 more expensive. Regardless, make sure you check pricegrabber.com for the best price regardless of what TV you decide on.

Insignia is garbage. Really. I would pick up a 42PX1 Panasonic plasma.
It's 720P, but unless you sit 3-4 feet away and/or use your PC on it, there will be no benifit to 1080P.
Motion will be much better then either of those LCDs can provide. Blacks will also be blacker. Just make sure to break it in for a couple weeks before doing more then 20-30mins gaming on it. After 2-3 weeks it is very safe to play as much as you need. You will want to check the web for the best settings for which ever set you choose.
You don't want it running on Dynamic/torch mode, those are settings for the stores.
Really, just don't buy into numbers. At anything under 46" unless of course it is used for PC or you just sit really close, 1080P is usually just a number.
