Awesome! What time were you there? I probably saw you.

The low end PC's will not give you acceptable frame rate on iRacing. it will be very choppy.

There are also Ultra Realistic SIMS like the one below made by CXC. It was just installed today. Three 55" video panels vs. three 18" on the Blue Tiger. Very realistic pedals and full size F1 and GT racing wheels, that pop on and off depending on the car you want to drive. I spent a couple of hours on it today. Amazing. But on the down side this one is over $60k. For serious track junkies (like me) only. It basically let's me drive on the track all winter

For just having fun, if you already own a reasonably powerful desktop PC, you can simply buy a Logitec G27 wheel and pedal set and download iRacing onto you existing PC. Very inexpensive and you will still be able to race against other iRacing subscribers. You won't have the motion sensation, but you will still be able to learn the tracks and compete. Great entry level set-up that get's you in the game.
Between this and your new additions to your stable I smell another hang out soon. What kind of beer do you like? I want another go on the SIM. I need to post a better time.

Now that two are installed, we can race on the track at the same time. No Beer. Patron, just like my Cayman Graphics.

I definitely want the sensations! I am still doing my research...started with that eBay link and didn't see what I wanted.

Googled a bunch and just gathering more info. But if you have any leads or better yet where I can get a good deal on one please do let me know.

Going to try to find a local dealer to (if any) to get a feel of the real deal.

Good to do your homework. I'm familiar with CXC out of LA, Blue Tiger out of NY and Virtual GT out of LA. I'm sure there are dozens more. All of the above have a national network. CXC even sells units in the EU. My system shipped from LA and a tech flew in to Mass to perform install and training. Any issues with the SIm can be manage remotely. They jut dial in.

I would recommend buying the best you can afford. The full motion SIMS make a big difference in terms of realism. I have to friends that spent about $4k on PC, driving seat and monitor and they don't like the static setup. They can't feel the car starting to slide and you don't feel the decelleration.
If you go for a motion setup, make sure it is robust. You want a base that will last. All the movement creates a lot of stress on the components, so a good strong design is a must.

I was browsing through these photos again when I noticed the way the rear of the F50 is attached to the lift. I have never seen the attachments going into the rear wheel nuts from the lift. Can someone explain how that works?

Thanks!

The car needs to be lifted by the rear wheels due to the under trays. There is a special fixture that locates itself in the center hub opening.

I never knew that before today. Thank you. Now I have to ask how rear wheel removal is accomplished?
