It seems to me a lot of the fascination with the F40 is the sheer rawness of the car. If we look at comparable supercars today what I believe we are seeing is the fact that you really CAN have it all. Previous eras of high performance cars were a strict dictum of "lighter is faster is better". With modern technological advancements (most if not all) derived from motor racing we are now able to produce vehicles with 4x the hp, full electronic & computer systems etc AND with better aerodynamic & Handling #'s!!!

I think that future looks brilliant as well. but I still wonder of the performance achieved in the past, Porsche 917 in early seventies reached a top speed near 400 kilometers per hour. and to my eyes the new era of supercars are not beautiful enough.
Examples. Carrera GT looks like a modern ElCamino pick up. the new Mercedes Gullwing is very ugly compared to the 1954 model. and Pagannis and Koenisseg and Ascari and most of the Lambos are realy ugly.
thats why F40 is a Real Performancer Beauty now and then.
