Great Article on Jim Glickenhaus's 2006 Pininfarina Ferrari P4/5
#12
Comparing the P4/5 to the Enzo is easy as I had the chance to drive the Enzo as well. I think of the driving experience of the P4/5 as an Enzo unplugged.
The sound inside the cockpit of the P4/5 is definitely louder and in general, the car feels and looks racier. The noise level combined with the performance and visual allure of the P4/5 results in a total sensory experience. Running the car hard on the track, in extreme temperatures, demonstrates that the P4/5 was engineered very well for a one off.
The fact is, the additional weight saving of the P4/5 does add up to seat of the pants faster feel. Combined with the incredible braking produced by the ceramics, its an tool of endless fun on the track, and endless visual appeal off of it.
The Enzo felt a little less edgier in its performance, almost more refined. I was mighty impressed with my first seat time in an Enzo, and I am definitely sold on it...very very nice !
Jim drives his car...its already over 5k miles I believe. He will never sell it and it will be passed on to his family. It was a rare treat to drive it, and to talk with the engineer in charge of special projects at Pininfarina, Paolo Garella, who oversaw its development. They are especially proud of this car at Pininfarina...I was lucky enough to experience why first hand.
