US Treasury Auction Ferrari Enzo

Ya I have the same question. I mean, what if that Enzo goes for 700k? I mean that's a million dollar car right? That would be a nice return

I have attended these auctions for 50 years, and you are right people get excited and way over pay. I have seen cars sell for more than sticker, that had to be exported! However, if you attend all the auctions, once in a while they will throw you a bone. You might have to bid on 1000 cars, but sooner or later your number will come up. The question is, how much is your time worth to chase a .01% chance of winning even if you have the cash. However, with respect to high dollar items, there is more chatter. I already have half a dozen buyers (none in the U.S.) wanting me to bid. They all think it will go for a good deal, even though I have told them otherwise. If you are unemployed and have a sack of cash might as well fly in and take a whack at it. I know for a fact it will not be a good deal, because I will be bidding past what I would pay, based upon third party requests. I welcome other experiences as well.

That is one question I always had, the feds are always chasing poor bastards taking their goodies, but when they go to auction the stuff off; the feds never seem to chase the bidders that have hundreds of thousands of dollars, cash on hand! Millions available in working cash! I am sure we will see it one day, but I never have.

No, of course I don't think they should harass buyers. Then no buyers would bid anymore. Feds would be cutting their own throats. Point is, the buyers may be worse than the poor bastards that had their goodies taken. But some government controllers decided to attack them.
