Official: Ferrari P4/5 Competizione

Renderings are giving a preview on a future car and are mostly not coming straight from the manufacturer. This time, James Glickenhaus and his team, have revealed the final renderings of the upcoming P4/5 Competizione. Even more interesting is the fact that the Ferrari P4/5 Competizione will be offered in both racing versions, and also as a road legal car.

The P4/5 Competizione is based on a Ferrari 430 Scuderia and will run on the same V8 engine that can be found in a F430 GT2 ALMS racing car. The team hopes that it can finish the build in time to make preparations for the 24 Hours of Nurburgring on June 25, 2011. Stay tuned for more!

Boo-yah! That looks outstanding! Too bad it's not based on the Enzo this time but that'd be a lot more expensive to wreck at the track, I suppose.

The front is very similar to many of the "Future Ferraris'" renderings we have seen in the past year- most notably that from road & track.

The Enzo chassis would not be allowed to compete in GT class racing. I spoke with Jim about the project last week and it's very exciting - I'm hoping to get out to Italy in December to see the final stages of build. It'll be ready to turn a wheel in the new year.

You can watch the progress at INSIDE P4/5 COMPETIZIONE - Story telling done by: Kinetic Fin.

Here is a video from that site. They will be covering the entire build for everyone to follow. What an amazing opportunity to watch a bespoke race car build while it happens. Hats off to Jim.

YouTube - Inside P4/5 Competizione - chapter 1

If you haven't seen his videos on the Ferrari/Ford wars of the 60's Leman's it is worth looking it up. He is a great story teller.
