Swiss Millionaire Gets $290,000 Speeding Ticket - Sets New Record
#1

A Swiss millionaire has been fined 299,000 francs ($290,000 USD / €202,000) for driving a Ferrari Testarossa through the town of St Gallen at 100 km/h (62 mph).
While this sounds a bit absurd, the court said "The accused ignored elementary traffic rules with a powerful vehicle out of a pure desire for speed." They then demanded the man pay the fine out of his 23.3 million franc ($22.5 million USD / €15.7 million) fortune. This princely sum exceeds Switzerland's previous record fine of 111,000 francs ($107,000 USD / €75,000), which was set in 2008 by a Porsche driver in Zurich.

I think that the "previous record fine of 111,000 francs ($107,000 USD / €75,000), which was set in 2008 by a Porsche driver in Zurich." was held by a guy from Qatar...
I guess we only have to wait till summer to see if they can hit the 300k mark

Wow. The guy was doing a whopping 62mph. What a menace to society. Sure, he may have been doing it in a place where people are present and truly endangering the public, but why not take his license away for a year, or 5 years, or forever? Or jail time? Again, it's all about the money. Government found a deep pocket, now rape him. So if he was worth a Billion, he would face how big of a "ticket?"
I mean, whats next, a $100,000 no front plate ticket? These politicians/judges of Socialist countries need to be dragged out of their arrogant, power-hungry offices and beaten. Jerk-offs.

Man, 62mph--the man is clearly out of control! Truly a SPEED DEMON and a menace to society in a car that simply isn't built to handle at those speeds.

The Swiss hate cars, don't know why, but they do.
I say the guy follow my 2 step plan and give the Swiss tax man the finger by moving his asset to the UK and get a visa back to Switzerland. Then both the Swiss and the UK tax man can't touch him.
Sometimes government like this needs to get a lesson on lost future tax revenue.

I'm guessing you're reffering to the Nokia exec that was caught speeding. He was fined around €100k.
