By always leaving it in gear at red lights, or while stopped. You have to treat it like a manual and always put it in N when stopped for any reason. Everyone thinks that because there is no physical clutch to press that they can treat it like an automatic and just leave it in gear. This causes the clutch to be engaged for long periods of time and burning it out. That's the reason there are so many egear gallardos getting there clutches replaced after a relatively short amount of time.

That's also why a proper manual rocks!

With the ferrari and lambo egears, when you are not moving, with the car in gear, wouldn't it act like having the clutch fully depressed?? That might wear out a linkage a little faster, but really shouldn't be bad on the clutch.

The way you really wear out a clutch is by going slowly up a hill, in particular in reverse. My friend has a Maser Quatro, and his driveway is very steep. It is really hard to back up his driveway, without burning some clutch. Fully engaged is too fast for the tight maneuvers you need to make, slow, slips clutch and makes that awful $$$$$ smell.

All of those things combined would burn it out.
