Poor brake modulation on 575M?
I have my 575M for about 6 weeks, and I noticed since the beginning that there doesn't seem to be a lot of pressure modulation before you have to apply more pressure at the end of travel to make sure it stops. This makes it difficult for me to execute smooth stops, and makes me wonder if I would have locking issues at higher speed or sudden stops. They also squeak sometimes but I assume that's normal. The place where I purchased it swear that that's the way they are supposed to be, while another Ferrari mechanic who I am friendly with and whom I allowed to drive my car once claims that they are definitely not supposed to be like that. He claims Ferrari brakes always offer great feel and modulation and that my brakes need adjustment, but the place I bought it at does not see things the same way. He describes my brakes by using the term "soft brakes", which I guess is the way you describe this condition though it seems the opposite to the way they really feel (they are not soft, they require a more hefty pressure at the end of travel with not much modulation before hand).
I do see from my service records that only about 3000 miles ago the previous owner had all brakes replaced and serviced (pads, shoes, and discs) at a shop in western Canada (I am in Toronto), so its entirely possible that they were not adjusted properly (it was not done at a Ferrari dealer and the brake parts were ordered separately from a place called G.T. Car Parts in Arizona).
Can I get some more opinions on this please?
