VIDEO: Prototype Ferrari California Turbo?

Remember that Ferrari California test mule that our spies mentioned to us sounded like it had a turbo in it from last November? Well this video by member Marchetino may have confirmed their suspicions, listen closely and you'll hear what we think sounds like the spooling of turbo's. You be the judge!

Here was our post from November 2011: "Our spies floating around Maranello this week have sent us some interesting stuff this week. First it was exclusive pictures of the 599 successor and now this rather odd looking California that has caught their eyes as well. This prototype looks to the naked eye like any other Ferrari California, (besides the bi-livery paint black/red paint job) but what seems interesting to us is the front hood, or rather whats under the hood.

Look closely and you will see air intakes on the hood and what our spies heard was clearly the sound of a turbo charged engine. We'll try and get an update as soon as we can because this sure has our interests peaked as to what goodies Ferrari has planned for us!

Any views on what the power output will be?

 

Ferrari is rumored to be powering the next Maser Quattroporte. 2 engine choices, a V8 and a turbocharged V6.....this could be the test body for that.

 

F40-style intakes on the bonnet - interesting!

 

Isn't Ferrari going to develop 2 new engines for the Fiat group?

 

The V6 will be supercharged while the V8 turbocharged
Hope there won't be any V6 on a F-car

Why not? A v6tt entry level car. Lol call it a Dino and leave the Ferrari badge off.

 

I have read only the V8 will be turbocharged, the V6 supercharged (the same engines for Maserati).
