we weren't the best of buds, but yes, we knew each other and partied many a time together.

not to turn him into a martyr or anything, but I hope this tragedy sends a message to the other fellas, that just because your mama & papa are loaded it doesn't make you invincible...a lot of these fellas live in the delusion that they are untouchable, by law, even by God and are just entitled to anything/anyone.

it's very sad, nonetheless, that he had to pay the ultimate price to learn that lesson but he is with God now, RIP.

Speaking of kids dirving nice cars that their parents bought them and kill people with it, here's one from Taiwan.

This guy allegedly belongs to those exotic run clubs in Taiwan...

https://www.chinapost.com.tw/taiwan/...unk-driver.htm

Killed the passenger in his parents' car, decapitated an innocent mom, then her husband suffered heart attack 3 days later from grief and died.

Not widely reported in English media, but if you can read Chinese, let's just say that the Taiwanese people are not pleased with what he did and the fact that he was granted a 30K USD bail.

I will not be more inclined to wear a seat belt while in a cab... although I am not sure it would have done much here. RIP

It happens very often unfortunately, in my common circle, and doesn't get much public press.

A friend's younger brother was street racing in a CLS63 and lost control, crashing head on into an innocent driver leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.

Another, a female friend, racing her bmw on 101 southbound lost control and crashed into a pickup severely injuring the driver and her own passenger.

Another friend of a friend, doing over 100mph in his gallardo on local streets, hopped the center divide and crashed into an suv, killing the mom driver and causing severe brain damage to her 5-yr old who was in a child seat in the back...

and a few more...

All this nonsense happened just in the last 2 years btw, and yes, the commonality between them is that they were kids blessed with silver spoons in their mouths. Coincidence? You tell me.

And that is why as a biker, I always check left and right, regardless of whether the light is red or green.

I have no sympathy for the 599 guy. *uck him and all the drunk drivers out there.
