It doesn't matter. It was not built as a homologation special therefore it does not adhere to the name. You can choose not to accept it but that does not change the definition. That's the entire point of the GTO (the "omologato" part...) name. The 599XX was built to race, but in an exclusive Ferrari program which I'm going to go ahead and say doesn't have homologation mandates ""

If Ferrari new 620 GT dont deserve GTO badge (we already explained what is required for GTO badge) maybe it would be fair to mark their sport version in this way:

Ferrari 620 GTE (Gran Turismo Estremo)

In my opinion 599 GTO was extreme 599 & because of that GTE would be really correct badge.
So for me 599 GTO is actually 599 GTE.

so am I wrong, today is the 22nd and I thought certain clientele were viewing the car in Maranello this evening.......no insight, thoughts, secret cell phone pics?!

 

It's stellar!! I've just started buying lots of oddly expensive DVD audio discs as the stereo plays them (I have the upgraded stereo package). I sat in my garage and listened to a queen album and tommy from the who like it was the first time ever hearing it

So not only is it the greatest car ever but I even sit in it in my garage and listen to the stereo

Front is very very similar to the real thing....only noticeable difference is the big mouth in the front of the real F152, much bigger then any other Ferrari we know. Headlights as well are slightly different but that's just a detail.

I would have loved the rear to be like this rendering but I'm afraid it looks a bit different from that angle.

Overall I would say this is the closest rendering I've seen so far, at least in the first 3/4 of the car.
