Spied: Prototype Ferrari California Turbo?

Our spies floating around Maranello this week have sent us some interesting stuff this week. First it was exclusive pictures of the 599 successor and now this rather odd looking California that has caught their eyes as well. This prototype looks to the naked eye like any other Ferrari California, (besides the bi-livery paint black/red paint job) but what seems interesting to us is the front hood, or rather whats under the hood.

Look closely and you will see air intakes on the hood and what our spies heard was clearly the sound of a turbo charged engine. We'll try and get an update as soon as we can because this sure has our interests peaked as to what goodies Ferrari has planned for us!

A turbo-6 would sort of make sense for the Cali. Especially since F1 is switching to turbo-6's next year anyway.

 

I think a turbocharged 4 cylinder would nicely suit a lot of the drivers that buy this car in Cali.

 

Could it be possible that this is just a mule, Seems to be riding quite high.

 

Yes it certainly may, this is only our speculation as of now.

Maybe a turbo 6 in the California though. What would that mean for all the other N/A cars?
