Other projects got in the way and I am now shooting a documentary on the original Carrera Panamericana (1950-54) using original footage and new interviews that I am shooting. When this one is finished, I will go back to the GTO project and see it through to completion.

The three photos here are from when I owned 3987, its first race at the 1000 Kilometres of Paris which it won with the Rodriguez brothers at the wheel and in Mecom colors with Roger Penske and Augie Pabst driving.

Thanks to all for your kind thoughts!

Wow. Amazing ownership experience. One of the all time great automobiles. I love how it seems that many GTO owns take their cars out and use them how they were meant to be used- on the track.

Wow. I am left wanting more after reading your experience. Other than a 1973 911 RS that is one of my all time dream cars.

And seriously WELCOME!

Thank you Stephan for sharing your story. The 250 GTO to me is one of the legends that has truly defined supercars in modern times and so it was a honor to read your story. And of course, welcome to the Team!
