365 GTS Daytona

I was pulling out of my supermarket and I heard this pulling in. After making a u-turn I got some pictures (iphone-sorry). The car is gorgeous, and that ferrari V12 was heavenly. I am not savvy enough to know if this is a GTB/4 conversion, or the real deal GTS/4, but something looks funny as I don't think there should be a cavallino in the grille?

The Prancing horse is not in the right position. Great looking car though.

It being crooked is a dead give away that it's the real deal!

I'd be willing to bet that it is a real Daytona but I doubt it left the factory as a droptop.

Yea, it is definitely crooked. But I don't remember, did those even have a cavallino on the grill, or just the yellow Ferrari logo on the hood??

Ferrari 365 "Daytona"

That looks like a real Ferrari to me. One of my favorite cars. Too bad they're rediculously expensive. The convertibles go for 1.5 millions, the coupes go for a quarter of a million.

Here's a video I shot of one a couple of years ago at the Amelia Concours

Was that the one owned by herb chambers that was on the chasing classic cars show? I think it was that color.

Here is a list of some sales I found - it really paid off to buy in the early 2000s
