599 GTO question

A) the 599 replacment will be out by 2012 after the 612 replacment comes out
B) Its based on the 599, its not like an Enzo, F50, F40 which arent extreme versions of already Ferrari roadcars.

Auto gallery of calabasses offered an allocation to a relative of mine.
I know people Will eventually try to flip it. But I know there is a period of time which you can't resell the car, 18 months I think. By that time the 599 replacement will be right around the corner.

Not a chance that it'll appreciate. They might be trading hands at $25-50K over MSRP for the next year or so, but when the 599 replacement comes along, it'll be relegated to the ranks of the 550 Barchetta and 575 SuperAmerica.

It was shortsighted for Ferrari to use the "GTO" moniker for this particular car. Now they can't use it again for years......if not decades. It should have been reserved for something more special then a 599 derivative. Something much more unique and extreme.

I'm not doubting this statement one bit, but do you think it will be more collectable than a CS? I think it will, but I want to hear from someone that knows more about it then me.
