The Latest Ferrari 599 GTO Info - 3/24/2010
Here is straight from a "friend" of mine who was at a private presentation of the car. No cameras were allowed unfortunately. For now we still have the spy shots but pretty much we know how this will look! April 14th is the official presentation but knowing our spies we'll see a real image before then.
"DJ, the car looks like a street 599XX. It has 670hp engine and 100kg lighter body-shell with a gearbox as fast as a Scud. Exhaust is more open and sound great as will. Interior is more Carbon and from the outside all front openings have mesh grills and no wings on the car. They don't know how many cars will be built but soon will know. 0-60 is 3.2 seconds, the wheels are forged and they come in bright silver or gun metal."
Amazing pictures from Frozen Speed!

Yes, I have seen it, but not allowed to post before the premiere. I was actually amazed by the amount and price of options, I supposed that there will be more extensive base equipment for such level of exclusivity.

I'm a bit confused with Lamborghini's decision to increase the price of the Murcie successor to one class above (around 300,000 Pounds). Does it mean they do not see the 599, this GTO version, and its successor as a direct competitor anymore ?
Seeing the specs of this GTO version, the 599 successor would surely have no less than 670 hp and 3.2 seconds century sprint. Or will Ferrari be increasing their price as well ? (Which makes sense, considering their V8 cars are now their main sellers - more than ever, with 2 different V8 cars).
