i was worried about this.. i want manual, but i hate sitting on car that takes a year to sell.. basically i have found a good car at a reasonable price, i want to try it and then sell it within a few months. manual might not be the way to go by the sounds of it.
i had a 355 with stick... and it was the best part.
click.... waaaahhhhHHHHHHHhh! i miss that sound. that with an enzo engine... yumyum

I would venture to guess that since there are very few manuals, you will def find a buyer for one. There are always people that will always prefer a manual. I am one of those. I would rather not drive than not drive a manual (not really but you get it). If I were you and really enjoyed the manual, I would just go for it, and get the manual. Nothing better than shifting through that metal shift gate and using a clutch. I met a guy here in FL that at the gas station and he was there with 2 of his cars, a 575 and 599 both in manual. He told me that it was the only way he would ever order a car.

at the end of the day, you don't want to look back and regret not buying a manual, that sort of thing can ruin the whole experience of ownership when little things eat away at you. if you want the manual, and it makes sense, go for it. but i wouldn't settle for second best otherwise. Personally, i can't see any other way to have a 599. Good Luck!

^^ I actually somewhat disagree. Part of the reason the 430s have such a reputation and people buy them for track use is the speed of the F1 gearbox. Particularly that which are on the Scuderia. I mean, there is a reason that the 430 is used for the challenge racing league.
While in the 599 you can certainly go either way transmission wise, my heart certainly lies with a manual as well.

Sorry H-bo, just saw this thread...
From what I understand after speaking to a dealer last year about a manual 599 GTB, the cars electronics are tailored to the F1 transmission.
The manual cars were "problematic" as he put it, as they were running into electronic issues with them. In fact, there was a specific car in the Northwest that had continued issues that the factory was trying to sort out.
If it were me looking, I would stick to the F1 box...it is sweet and does not detract from the driving experience.
