Retail for your car (assuming it has full power seats, steering wheel and shields) is around 250.

16M can be had everywhere at list and less if you're diligent so the stealer might be motivated to give you more than retail for yours.

Keep the 599 - the 16M's badges alone make it too tacky for words...

599 is an amazing car but you can always get one later if you still want it...
only 499 of the 16M are around
I am not a fan of the 16M, I like the Scudi more, but if I had to pick between a 599 and a 16M... I would go for the 16M

may not be able to find a new one anymoe but there will always be one available for the right buyer. I guess I'm just looking at the situation from the prospect of taking an $80k hit by getting rid of the 599 for a car that will in turn take a hit at least until the market picks up again

I could be totally wrong and no one should ever look at a car as an investment (except for a few exceptions). I guess it's all about the passion though

See part in bold.

I am no F-car expert by any means, but I don't see the 16M necessarily having the intrinsic or other value that allows cars like the 250GTO, SWB California, Superfast, 288GTO, F40/F50(?)/Enzo to hold their value/appreciate.

The 16M is beautiful, well built, extremely well performing car, but I think the 1/499 is a little bit of hype. Will it be a classic Ferrari? Only time will tell. Does it have some very unique features? Absolutely. Again I don't want to come off the wrong way, I would love to have one!!! I am just not certain of it as an investment is all.

I am sure someone who is far more well informed than I could refute that and if that's the case then so be it, as I said I am far from an expert!

i understand that the 16M is more exclusive and a great car. but truthfully, when i look at both cars side by side, the 599 is still more appealing and sexier in my opinion. i don't think i will be any less happy driving either car, but something about the lines of the 599 truly make it a piece of art. so i guess my dilemma is do i spend the extra dough for a car that is more exclusive, but wont necessarily make my grin any bigger when i drive or look at it. i know, tough choice, but someone has to make them.

you and I are on the same page then, those are the exact car I meant by "few exceptions"
