just took the 599 out for my first test drive. the best combination of practical drivability with raw performance. i think am going to thoroughly enjoy my first Ferrari. unfortunately i did not have a chance to try the launch control. but i just wanted to get a feel for the car before i start to play with it.

 

the 599 is the perfect balance between practical drivability (daily driver) and ultimate performance. the carrera gt was basically a formula 1 car for the street, just awesome, raw performance at every level, but very impractical for me to drive on a daily basis. The GT2 is a more practical car to drive every day, however, just does not compare to the 599 as it is so much more practical, comfortable, and faster.

Congrats on the purchase of the 599! Its a different type of vehicle (compared to the R8), but I'm sure you will love the increased power output and F1 gearbox.

 

when i watch the top gear video, it mentions that i have to enable the launch control....where is the launch control button???

 

I believe it's on the center console labeled "LC".

 

no such "LC" button on my center console.

 

Go to Race Mode, then hold the left paddle for 2+ seconds, (Transmission light briefly flashes to confirm engagement)

That should work
