"In total, 31 examples of the SV-R were produced.[33] Only a few of these have been modified for road use, including one in the United States which received a Diablo VT 6.0 front clip and was painted with the Stars and Stripes.[34][36]"

There were actualy 33 produced..1 remains at the Factory, in and out of their museum from time to time. 30 were "Leased" to various Gentelman racers for the first year..they came in Yellow and/or White mostly. It was then up to the team to paint them in their prespective team/Country colors..this one was done by the then owner, a USA citizen, in the USA Flag style. There is one finished in the French Flag, the German Flag..as well as a few other various Country's.
The 2 "Extra" cars were produced for "Replacements" of the first 30 should there be an issue during the "Lamborghini" sponsored racing season of 1996-97. However neither was needed and these two remained somewhat untouched and are in private collections today.
All the "street" items for the SV of 1996 (the 30 turned into SV-R cars) were sent with the cars at the end of the series, as the drivers could then turn the 1 year lease into a purchase..NOT all drivers bought their cars..hence the few around that were returned to street status and sold by various Dealers in Europe via the Lamborghini Dealer netwrok.
I still have the box of all the street items for my car, mainly carpets, heater controls, blowers, vents, real windows, real wheels, seats etc etc. As well as an extra set of race wheels and race exhaust from the Factory as privided for spare parts for these cars.
The sucess of the series supported the "Street" production of the 97-99 SV cars as we know them today.
This series was replaced with the GT-R series in 1999, again with ONLY 33 cars, 30 leased, just as the SV-R. It was the leading factor for production of the 1999/2000 Diablo GT, with only 80 units produced world wide. 78 to the public. I have a GT car #74 of that series as well.
The GT-R was not as successgul as the SV-R serious...mainly do to the lack of factory support as it was just in the transistion of sale to Audi at the time.
Most, and I agree, consider the 2000 Diablo GT car, ONLY produced for Euro (as it was not "presented" to the USA for DOT/EPA testing, so was not sold here), as the LAST TRUE Lamborghini built by the Italians prior to the Germans getting total control of the Factory.
Yes, the 6.0 was on the boards...but it went through various changes additions from the Germans prior to production, a bit watered down, but also considered one of the "last"..only 221 6.0 standard cars produced World Wide with the LAST Diablo series AS well as 43 Numbered 6.0SE cars 1 through 43. Depending on what figure you want to use, several reported, ONLY approx 156 of the total 6.0 production and 9 of the 6.0SE made made it to Northern America, this includes USA and Canada.
of course, IMO, the 6.0 cars will soon become a sought after collectors car, and their prices will reflect this. We have seen the 6.0 cars, that are offered up for sale of late, ever so keep creeping up in price..thats WHEN they come up for sale, which is less and less each day...and for a 99/00 Diablo GT...forget it...like Hens teeth to find, let alone secure one.
