2001 Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 Verde Ithaca

You are looking at an unbelievable restoration of a 2001 Diablo 6.0

Here is a complete list of the restoration along with personal notes:
• New lightweight clutch flywheel assembly with kevlar disk
• New drive shaft
• New CV Joints and boots
• New drive axle
• New tires
• New wheels ($18,000.00 to replace today)
• New weather-strip
• New engine - fuel injector & spark plug wire wiring harnesses
• New leather on the seats
• New emblems
• New door handles and locks
• New shock bushings all round
• Two new rear shocks
• New upper & lower control arm bushings all round
• New tie rod ends
• Rebuilt rack & pinion
• Rebuilt rear differential
• Rebuilt front shocks
• New slave cylinder
• Adjusted valves
• Rebuilt alternator
• Rebuilt Starter
• New fuel lines - fuel injectors and all filters
• New A/C Compresser
• New belts
• Custom exhaust with muffler delete (Jet hot sterling silver coated)
• New throttle cable
• Full factory alignment

PAINT WORK:
• Complete stripped down body, all panels removed
• Painted PPG 0077 Verde Ithaca, specific PPG paint, we used the exact same paint that the factory used and the pearl and depth of the paint is incredible.
• You can bend back the mirrors and see the green paint, pull back weather-stripping and see green paint, in other words if we never told you the car was painted this color outside the factory, you nor anyone else would ever know the difference.
• All suspension, including shocks - control arms - mounting brackets etc where all powder coated the exact same color as factory spec.

DRIVE TRAIN:
• Engine completed to factory torque specs and valve clearances. Diagnostics and performance show perfect engine performance.
• Transmission operating to factory spec. All gear synchros working properly, and shift linkage adjusted perfectly for gated shifter.
• Upon complete restoration (800 miles ago) this Diablo was left 2WD for the moment. The front diff was not re-installed, as well as drive axles and prop shaft. By doing this, and installing a lightweight flywheel and exhaust, we reduced the cars weight by 180lbs, this is a noticeable difference and acceleration is amazing to say the least. Owner was already a long time Diablo 6.0 and purchased this 6.0 as a fun project which “got out of hand”, as everything eventually came of the car, since he is a “perfectionist”. While the project was rewarding it was expensive and extremely time consuming as a full restoration would be on any exotic. He is not in a person to keep both, and his other long time 6.0 has a great sentimental attachment to him.
• The drive axles and prop shaft, along with the rebuilt front differential do come with the Diablo, and can also be installed before taking delivery if the new owner wishes.
• All fasteners and hardware were refinished to factory color and specs.

INTERIOR:
• Black leather with factory carbon fibre
• Seats are black, with green stitching and green piping; we used the exact color to match the exterior paint.
• Door sills black and green stitching
• E-brake cover, green leather, with black and green stitching
• Dash, black with black stitching.
• Supplied with factory car cover - tool kit (Both) all books including owners - warranty - and documents pouch & a spare set of keys.

Read more to learn about this beautiful and unique Lamborghini and a little history:

Lamborghini was purchased by Audi in 1998. The 1999 Diablo was already set for production with some nice interior changes over the 1998 model. The Diablo had set the supercar world on fire with it’s introduction in 1991, and had gone through much of an “evolutionary process” of improvement through the 1990’s. Features like AWD with viscous traction, variable valve timing, ABS, traction control, adjustable suspension, improved brakes, airbags, and most every control in the ****pit was improved for better performance and ergonomics.

Audi was not done yet with the Diablo, and was determined to produce the world’s best Diablo ever. There was no 2000 Diablo model, for it would take an additional year to perfect the All New Diablo 6.0.

The 5.7 liter engine would now be replaced with a larger 6.0 liter engine (thus 6.0) to become the most power production Diablo from the factory. The track and stance would be widened for better handling, along with new suspension and steering components to make it a better handling supercar. The feel was greatly improved along with the more aggressive look due to all new wider body work to handle the wider stance. One look at the 6.0 on the outside, and without being an enthusiast you knew this was a whole new Diablo! To finish off the “look” of the all new bodywork, visible carbon fiber trimmed the whole exterior, as well as an all new alloy wheel design.

Once the doors opened upward you immediately noticed the new Lambo was like none other. Visible carbon Fiber is everywhere….Door sills…Instrument panel….A/C vents…stereo console….steering wheel….gated shifter……center console. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!

All new leather seats with contrasting piping give the rich smell of leather!

New ergonomics for the cabin made this Diablo the most user-friendly Diablo produced. Everything was placed where it should have been in previous models with improved efficiency. Steering was easier with a better feel…the climate controlled A/C worked perfectly with touch of a controls with additional and more powerful automatic fan settings (you would actually have to turn the auto temp down now to not be too cold). Clutch pedal pressure was lighter with better feel and smoother shifting.

Audi had accomplished their task of producing the most powerful, best driving, most refined Diablo that would ever be produced. Ask any 6.0 owner, and they will share with you that there is NO comparison to previous Diablos. The 2001 Lamborghini 6.0 is whole different Diablo in a “league of its own”.

Any Lamborghini enthusiast will tell you it was the “Last Real Italian SuperCar from Lamborghini” before the German influence took over on the preceding models.

To this day, there is nothing in the world that “drops jaws and creates rubbernecking” like the Diablo. The first 2000MPH true production car in the World first produced over 20 years ago. Truly an exotic that owns a huge piece of Supercar history, and is well known among collectors throughout the world.

The last model year of any collectible car is always the most sought after for retaining values, and with the 6.0 and its complete list of refinements, it makes the choice that much easier. As cars recent a certain age, there is certain wear that is inevitable with time and miles. This is where these collector cars are restored to original condition, and with the materials available, sometimes actually better than what came from the factory. That is the case with this 6.0. You could look at other 6.0’s with miles in the “teens”, but under close inspection under the chassis, they will also need most every component that has already been completed on this beautiful 6.0/

There is another totally unique feature regarding this 6.0. The green metallic paint known as Verde Ithaca became an special order optional paint from Lamborghini with the introduction of the Murcielago in 2002. It has since become a favorite among exotic enthusiasts even to this day. It was just released as a $9000 optional paint color on the new 2010 Lamborghini LP700 Aventador.

As years go by, and restorations are done to collector cars, colors are changed by owners. There truly could not have been a better and more outrageous choice than the Verde Ithaca. The Diablo is outrageous, so an outrageous color matches its personality, and thus the Verde Ithaca was born.

Own a “1 of a Kind” and a Unique piece of Lamborghini history that is turn-key and ready to enjoy! Be sure to share your Blue Ribbon at your first AUTO SHOW you attend with your all new Diablo 6.0!
