Thrashed 128i

(my camera ended up having a few spots on the lenses. Ignore the black spots)

The owner said he couldn't locate someone he felt comfortable with to work on his baby. So I headed to Tuscaloosa, Al. to rescue this gem. The drive was very pleasant. I love how polite Alabama folks are!

He'd told me he had the hood repainted due to getting keyed and the body shop hacked his car with a buffer. Indeed, it had tons of heavy scratches and swirls-galore.

I got to work the evening I got there. The wash and clay was done the day I got there and the next day saw correction. The third day got its LSP and layering.

I did my best to capture how bad the paint really was, but as with all white cars, it was difficult to get the depth of the damage on film.

Some products I used on any given area:
p21s total auto wash
Daytona speed master brush
Fat Boy brush
Swissvax wheel brush
Sonax wheel cleaner
House brand wheel cleaner
House brand shampoo
Cobra Micro Chenille Mitt
Foam Gun
Pressure washer
3m tape
assortment of mf towels
makita rotary
flex da
purple wool pad
orange foam pads
white foam pads
gray foam pads
50/50 alky/water spray
3m 2k grit sand paper
Menzerna SIP
Meguiar's M105
3m Finesse It 2
Menzerna power lock
If I remember more I will post...

As she sat when I arrived:

The owner said the inner dishes had never been touched. I believed him!

p21s total auto wash for the wheel wells, bug marks, skirts and fenders.

Inner dishes required a cleaning 4 times over to get them up to par.

House brand shampoo for pre-foam and wash.

Prepping:

Seve, the owner, was not joking. This sucker had been through the wringer!

Not only did it have extensive damage, it also had a metric ton of overspray on the roof, deck lid and front bumper.

Some portions were really really really bad

Cleaned up:

The deck lid had a scratch so deep it needed a bit extra luvin'.

50/50 with just the first level of correction

My work space for a few days. It was pretty pleasant.

After all correction was done, she got another bath and was sealed up with Menzerna Power Lock, then layered with another coat of Power Lock.

I didn't spend a ton of time on logging this detail with a lot of photos. Just touched on the major areas for the sake of time.
