MoeMistry - is the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser okay for bugs on bumper?

I had a trip in the 'slade out to Palm Desert and came back with a ton of bees on the car. I couldn't get them off with regular washing, so I wanted to try the Magic Eraser on them, and it was truly magic! A couple swipes and the bug bits were gone, then I went over the areas with instant detailer.

Is that okay or am I destroying the paint or clearcoat?

I know some people have posted using the Magic Eraser. But, gotta tell ya, not a fan of using products like that on today's soft paints. I don't know what is in the magic eraser, but usually rinsing the car, spraying down the front, then washing with a mild soap, takes care of everything for me. The key is having a good wax protecting the paint. Properly protected, bug guts, bird droppings, sap, etc. can be removed easily. When you don't have that slick layer of wax as the sacrificial layer, you're now using the clear coat as your defense. Hope this helps.

The solvents in a Mr clean M.E are definitely not suitable for todays auto finishes.

They can be used on several non porous surfaces if need be and cared for correctly, not on paint however.
