What Do I Need to Buy?

OK, I need to do a lot of detailing on my wheels. They are HRE 545R's with brushed centers and polished lips. The wheels do not have a clear coat on them. The brushed centers look fine as I just hit them with some 0000 Steel Wool and P21S. However the lips are looking rough. They need to be repolished.

I Already have a Makita rotary that I bought from Phil. However what pads and polishes/compounds do I need? I have a bench grinder with a felt pad but it would be awkward to hold a wheel with tire up to it. My back wouldn't make it very long.

I use blue magic for polished lips. All my clients love the finish its gives, and it really protects.

All you need to apply it, is some simple elbow grease!

Good luck!

I think the lips are passed the point of just needing some elbow grease. The lips almost look brushed and hazy. I am pretty certain that they will need machine correction. I figure a good pad and some different compounds should be able to knock it out in a few hours.

Steel wool on brushed cleared centers?, work on HRE wheels all the time and have yet to see the forged center not clearcoated regardless of finish(brushed, painted, powder coated etc...) blue magic is an OTC product with limited performance, use CG metal shine for the initial polishing and follow with thier finer polish "smart wax" blu b gone for true correction on a difficult part of the car to correct.

The person who had these wheels before me had the clear coat removed. I am sure there is no clearcoat on them. The centers came out surprisingly well from the steel wool.

What pad should I use to apply the products?

Thanks alot.
