How to tell if lips are clear coated

How Do i tell if the wheels on my car are clear coated? I would like to give them a good off vehicle detailing the next time I am home from school. The lips are looking a little dull recently and I am not sure if I need to use a normal polish like I would use on my car of if I need to use a metal specific polish.

The wheels are Lexion 105's BTW
