a little math is in order. What does a 5 day detail cost?? 40 hrs plus supplies, surely at least $20 / hr (wouldn't be surprised to hear it was more than twice that.) So a minimum of $800 on a car that has traveled only 800 miles?? $1/mile maintenance, excluding rapid depreciation of at least 10% / year, plus opportunity costs of initial investment in vehicle, plus insurance. I hate to be devils advocate, but the more I thought about this thread, the more I thought this one was nuts. Surprises me that no one else has commented similiarly. I am just doing a reality check, is a car that was produced in record numbers really worthy of such dedication and time??

Remember we are talking about a mass produced Ferrari, that will one day have a value similar to a 308. Now if this was a pre fiat period classic sure, but a f430?

Dude, seriously it is still a Ferrari, and it was still very expensive!

Wow. The pictures speak for itself. What an amazing transformation. Great to see a detailer that really knows what he is doing and takes pride in his work.

I think the thing is that a detail like that isn't a once a month ordeal. Its an investment in the car and if done once (especially with a sealant like that) its going to be good to go down the road for a good while.

And if you had a detail like that done prior to a 3M protection, etc... then its going to be preserved for years.

WOW, what a great detail and write up.

I nominate this for detail of the year for 2009. Even polished and waxed the license plate!

$1000 would be cheap. if he did one car a week he'd only make $52k. this guy does awesome work.

That would only be his revenue too, not profit
