Some of his methods are questionable, but can't knock the man for excelling in his trade.

PD is very old news...the guy has been around for ever. Yes he's the grandaddy of a very thorough detail on a very exotic car, but nowadays the treatment that he provides is expected by the owners of these cars and is actually offered by many detailers. Unfortunately for the detailers (or for those of us who own the shops), it is hard to find a solid network of people who are willing to spend the money for the time and passion it takes to properly detail these cars. Guys like Moe (and my shop) can pull off Paul Dalton level details all day long, just give us the opportunity ;-)

I think what Paul has done for the industry to raise awareness is commendable. The rest, I'm keeping a gentleman's silence. Let's just say this level of work, even higher standards for some, is expected and nothing new for a detailer working on high-end automobiles. For anyone that has a nice automobile you must understand that it takes a certain detailer to know how to work on your car. You need someone that specializes in these high-end exotics and knows his/her way around it. The detailer not only needs to know his craft, but needs to be connected with those inside and outside the industry. Things like advice, access to dealers and tuners, sources for body work or enhancements, etc. are assets that you're also paying for. This is why those that know don't shrug at a detail costing in the thousands; they're buying into an elite network of people that are the best at their craft and get things done that no one else can or wants to do. Do your homework and find someone you trust that knows his/her niche. Then sit back and enjoy the ride; or the detail in this situation
