Factory Five GTM

Does anyone have one and does it drive good? I have only really found info from the actual company and was curious about realworld experiances.

Funny you should mention the GTM. I was at FFR this past saturday for their summer open house and sat in their red GTM with the LS7. I was very surprised to see how low the roof line was and how poor the visibility is for someone my height (6'4"). When I looked out the front the upper roll bar at the roof line was in my line of sight. There's no way I could get in with a helmat on. I would think 6'1" would be max height of the driver with a helmat.

With that said I have nothing but good things to say about FFR and their kits. I have done a fair amount of research prior to going down there on Saturday, including having a ride in a challenge car a few years back at Sears Point. I left even more impressed, if that was even possible. Dave Smith gave a personal tour of the factory and answered any and all questions we had. The quality and passion for what they do is second to none in the kit car business.

If you are interested the GTM I would suggest at least sitting in one first. There are a few being built in the SoCal area and I'm sure you could meet up with someone who is building one. Check out Factory Five Racing GTM Supercar - FFCobra.com - Factory Five Racing Discussion Forum to find someone in your area.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info that is good to know about the height limit. Do you think I would be comfortable sitting with a helmet I am 6 foot? Thank you.

I am going to go to our shop and get some pictures of the build.......... Post them in just a bit. BTW apparently there are so few of these actually built and so many idol kits people have bought factory five has been sending people to our shop. Our tech got more done in a week then most people have in 6 months. He is working round the clock to finish our first one and we have orders for three more. The kit comes with about 34 HUGE boxes in two giant crates.

Here are a few pictures to hold you over. This one is going to be black with very minor interior upgrades. The customer who bought it ordered two from us. The next one will be red with an amazing upgraded interior and a bunch of custom work. I take it the black one he will race the red he will show.

I think it would be close but you would probably fit. See if you can find someone in your area who is building on and go sit in it.

I've done a fair share of research on various companies and the general consensus is that Superformance has superior paintwork and build quality. Superformance is also endorsed by Shelby unlike FFR, who is being sued by Shelby (albeit it is a weak case).
