48' Mercury Woodie

This is my dads car, I believe he first got it back in the late 70's as just a frame and some pieces. He finished it about 15 years later only to have an uninsured drunk driver total it while he was on his way to our insurance place (Car was on the road for maybe 3 miles). After that it sat for about 5 years until he decided to finally finish it again. (Only time I can remember seeing my dad cry)

MTK, trust me, that has been my dads gripe for about 10 years. He just hasn't found the "perfect" wheel. Trust me, we have been searching for a LONG LONG time. We actually have a guy who is going to make one, but he's got a ridiculous like 2 year waiting list!!! (dad's a small man too, about 160 lbs)

The wheel is the last bit of old "street roddness" left over from when we had some genuine Halibrands on it. It's funny, when he first put the white walls on it I gave him shit for YEARS and about 6-7 years ago it finally completely sold me. And now i'm hooked on the look.

I eventually want to put some old steelies and white walls on my suburban as well. I'm waiting for a company to develop something that will clear my brakes though.

Beautiful, man. My Dad's first car was a '47 Merc. I always wanted to buy him another one, but he passed before I got the chance.
