I find that combo weird. usually university profs wear them daily form what I've seen.

 

When I was in college I used to wear Teva's with big wooly socks and jeans. I swear I thought it was cool. Now just Birks with socks in the winter on a cold Saturday morning.

The Eugene, OR jokes are very funny, but sadly true. You've got the majority of the professors, typical locals, and graduate students who wear hiking boots, worn out parkas, and frown upon Starbucks. The student population is what brings style, fashion, and money to this college town.

The weather is ridiculous, but the late Spring, Summer, and early Fall are beautiful. I've had California natives admit it to me multiple times. If you haven't seen a game at Autzen stadium early season, do it. Just don't come too late, because the showers, rain (horizontal, vertical, whatever), sleet, hail, snow, etc. start, and they don't stop for 8 months. If there was ever a good location to advertise Audi's Quattro where people could justify it every day, it's here.
