2011 Porsche Cayenne joins my stable
On the day that Porsche are making their big announcements in Detroit, I thought I'd make one of my own. Not overly exciting, but I have picked up my new 2011 Cayenne Diesel which replaces my V8 Cayenne S...
The diesel engine has lots of torque and feels just as capable as the old Cayenne S - without the thirst! Cayenne S did around 17mpg; Cayenne Diesel does 40mpg. Given that fuel in the UK is now at over £1.30 per litre (that's about $8 USD per gallon, I think ) it's an important consideration for a daily driver!
Colour is stunning - Umber Metallic. It works really well with the tan interior. 20" RS Spyder Alloys shod with Yokohama tyres.
My two year old son was completely blasé about collecting it from Porsche Silverstone – it's just a bus Dad. I prefer the black GT2 RS over there... I obviously agreed with him!

Thanks everyone, I wouldn't normally post this kind of purchase on TS, but it really is so good I thought I would. My old Cayenne S was okay, but not as good as the Range Rover it replaced. This however, I prefer to the RR and RRS.
The retractable tow bar is great, though a little phallic - a neat solution that's perfect for towing my wife's horses (which cost considerably more than my cars!). It's a good addition to my small car stable and I thoroughly recommend the new Cayenne to anyone thinking about one.
