Snows on

Got my Michelin Alpins on the Panamera 4S today. Using the 19 inch turbo wheels. Dealer did a nice job and is storing the summers for me. Price was very good too! Today's high is only in the upper 40s, bring on the snow!

Jeez dude that's a little early... Mine are arriving tomorrow, but considering it was 76 in DC today, they won't be on for a while.

Silly question about snow tires, do they wear out quicker if not used in the snow? I live in Jersey, so it's not like we get covered or anything, most of the time no-seasons do just fine, although sometimes things get iffy.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but I didn't think this deserved its own thread..

It's not a matter of whether there is snow, it's a matter of ambient temps. Right now, our daytime temps are still in the 60s, nighttime in the 40s. When daytime drops to the 40s, then I'll put my winters on. And yes, they will wear much faster when it's warm and dry out.

Chris is right. The cold temps. and "frozen" summer tires will get you before the snow does. My snows are going on next week just to prevent a possibility I get snuck up on by mother nature. Thanksgiving to Easter, and Thanksgiving isn't that far away....

Hey Damon - Got my wheels/tires yesterday - thank you! Do you guys have plain (unpainted) Porsche center caps? Since these are for winter, I don't need the fancy ones...

That reminds me, I need to email my MIL and tell her to get snows mounted on her 740...
