...don't you guys get sick of seeing only black, silver or white cars? Do a search for almost any high end car/suv and that's what you'll see! While I love all those colors; it appears so does everyone else. Dealers and consumers play it "safe" and order colors they know they can sell. Kinda reminds me of what Henry Ford said back in the day...... Me? I like a little color.

Yesterday, I took the car to Euro Auto Festival at the BMW plant in Spartanburg, SC. I have to say, it was one of the worst experiences I've had in my 20 years of attending car shows/concours events. I have never encountered so many rude/inconsiderate people at one event ever..... I would never be so presumptuous to feel I have the right to touch, lean on a car for someone else to snap a picture and worst of all to open the doors to try and get in a car that is not mine!!! All of those things happened numerous times throughout the day and I could not leave my car for fear of what would happen if I weren't standing there gaurding the car!!!! I tried windows up but people would try and open the door or press their face on the window to see in the car. I tried windows down with the doors locked but the alarm would go off continuously b/c people were sticking their gord in the window and the proximity sensor would set the alarm off....... A friend of mine with a brand new SLS had the very same experieince. He came back from a nature break to some kid sitting in the driver seat of his car!!!! When he asked the kid to get out, the kids dad gave him a hard time!!! I had one jerk off tell me; "if you don't want people to touch your car you should put a do not touch sign on it" My reply: "WTF? So let me get this straight, if there is no sign it is okay for spectators to touch the displayed cars? You're an idiot!" What is with people these days? I had another guy tell me how much he hated the design of the Panamera and when I asked him what he drove to the event he said a beige Volvo..... I laughed and walked away! Needless to say, I will not be attending this event ever again.

Rant over...

Here are a couple pics from the day:

Best pic of all? Heading for home!

Sorry for your aggravation, but yeah..it appears you do need to spell it out. The majority just does not have a lot of common sense.

So, just under 15k mi for me and I'm still making up reasons to go for a drive. And just to add, valet pretty much always leaves me up front

People are really dumb sometimes. And that father that thinks his kid has the right to sit in a 200k+ car without consent needs some help. I'm getting mad just looking at some of the people in those pictures.

Also, whether you like the Panamera or not, it's rude to disrespect the car in front of the owner... Especially when you drive a beige Volvo.

^^^ Thanks.

I found out why this event felt so different from previous years. Seems they stopped charging spectators to get in and to make matters worse they advertised on local television stations....

I have been to this event almost every year since it's inception and can categorically say this is the worst car related event I have EVER attended! Everything from the horrible parking layout (they flipped flopped cars from one side of the site to the other) and the optimal side was almost empty and they were telling me that we had to park closer together to accomodate all the registrants that decided to show up day of the show..... (something that needs to be stopped! - those people should be held in the parking lot and only allowed to park on the display feild IF there is room for them)!

I have always looked forward to this event but now I am likely not to return and I know many of my friends feel the same way.

Last gripe about the event.... they had my P4S in with the 911s! My guess is they didn't know what it was when I registered it and figured it had to be a 911.....

Cleaned the car tonight after work and thankfully, there was no apparent damage from all the knucklheads this past weekend.....

I have to tell you guys.... Of all the cars my wife and I have had (~50 over the years), I think I love this car the most. In spite of it's contreversial styling, the more I look at it the more I love the lines. It really is a thing of beauty. I talked to a guy this past weekend who is a sculpter by trade and he had some very nice things to say about the cars shape and I have to say that I really do agree with him.
