porsche design edition 3

Any thoughts on the porsche design edition 3?
I think for all the extras you get at about $7500 over the normal GTS its a good deal plus it limited...
BUT dont like the strips

Meh, I don't see what makes it worth another $7500.

The new cayenne is out next year, totally not worth it.

I like how this edition looks and if you want to go with GTS my vote would be positive. But there is new Cayenne II on the way with probable launch next spring and on sale fall 2010, same scenario as with Panamera this year. So taking in consideration all major changes in Cayenne II my advice would be to wait.

hmmm, most of the add-ons seem to be paint, not worth it IMHO

I think it looks great and I don`t think that there will be a new GTS along with the new Cayenne..
the fact that it is a limited model and the painting is done from factory will save its resale value...so maybe you want to go for it and keep it until the new GTS comes out

btw,the Panamera S starts at about the same price as the Porsche Design GTS
at least in Germany (94k €)

I'm not much of a fan of paying large sums of money to be a "rolling billboard" for a brand. Porsche Design makes some nice stuff, but it is typically WAY overpriced and the "Porsche Design" seems to be in large letters and prominently displayed on almost all of their products, especially on this Cayenne. No thank you.

$7,500 buys paint matched 21" wheels, Lava Gray Metallic Paint, and black racing stripes... Not a terrible deal considering it's all branded and "limited edition," but you could do better with a GTS with custom aftermarket wheels, and vinyl if you like.

That being said, for somebody just looking to buy something special and not mod it themselves, I could see a market for this package.

The stripes are removable with a heat gun, the design edition watch is pretty cool too...
