I took a 3800 mile road trip with the new Escort Passport 9500ix Dash Mount, and a RadioShack CB radio. The goal was to test the effectiveness of the radar detector (and go skiing)


Highway speeds were rarely below 85mph, and the cops were out in force.

Let's just say this....I am not a radar detector guy, and this thing WORKS. I would have the detector go off....not see a cop for a mile, think it was a false alarm, and then all of a sudden, over a crest, there he was. The range is UNbelievable.

I got zero tickets, zero warnings, and had FIVE people that were cruising in front of/behind me at SLOWER speeds get pulled over. One of the five that I could see had an inferior detector....the rest had none.



To put the icing on the cake.....when I removed the Escort, not TWO miles later.....ticket (see above). I am not kidding.

Moral of the story....don't drive without an Escort.

Great products, I will agree with you. We sell a lot of the 9500ix and do a lot of custom installs for the 9500ci locally. Our customers swear by them. Some customers come to our shop with the K40 Calibre system and we convince them to upgrade and they have never regretted going to the Escort Radar/Laser defense systems.
