TPC Racing: Official 987.2 6-Speed Turbo Release

For some time now 987 Gen 2 Cayman and Boxster owners have longed for the power and capabilities that were offered to 987 Gen 1 owners via TPC's Turbocharging kits. Well the wait is now OVER! Gen 2 owners, this one's for you!

With over two years of R&D, the TPC Racing 987.2 Intercooled Turbo Kit for the 6-Speed 3.4L DFI Boxster/Cayman has finally arrived. The 987.2 6-Speed Intercooled Turbo Kit makes a whopping 480HP with smooth and constant power delivery. Thousands of street and track miles have been logged on over 15 turbo 987.2 Caymans and Boxsters to date.

As with our Gen 1 TPC Racing Turbo Kit, we are using the same Liquid-to-Air intercooler System, which has proven to be very efficient even under the harshest conditions. The kit still features our custom designed 5-layer silicone tubing(rated to 30psi) that makes for absolutely no rattling noise. They are custom molded to fit the body of your car, making for a perfect fit and easy installation.

Unlike the fuel delivery system in the first generation 987.1 TPC Racing Turbo System, the Gen 2 system retains the factory fuel injectors allowing for a simpler installation. All of the stainless steel exhaust pieces are properly jigged for installation on your car taking all of the guessing and adjusting.

With an exhaust note that gets the adrenaline pumping, and the performance to match, the TPC Racing 987.2 Cayman/Boxster Turbo Kit is sure to excite the senses.

There is a lot more to a car’s performance than just peak horsepower… TPC Racing keeps this in mind by utilizing a custom built(for the application) turbo charger that delivers a strong peak of HP(115WHP over stock) and also quick spooling ability to allow for nearly 100ft/lb of torque gain(at the wheels) right at 3500 RPM.

At idle, the TPC Racing 987.2 Turbo, growls menacingly through its dual tipped full stainless steel exhaust. While cruising, it rumbles with a rich, aggressive tone that will please your ears, but will not spoil the conversation. However, as the driver summons the full 480hp available, the TPC Racing 987.2 Turbo will open up to full wail, quickly leaving its competitors in its wake.

The experience behind the wheel is something visceral yet refined. Traditionally with aftermarket turbo kits, the driver is forced to sacrifice the comfort and drivability of their vehicles when they want to drive the cars at normal "street" speeds. That is not the case with the TPC Racing Cayman/Boxster Turbo Kit. These cars feel as if they just pulled off of the showroom floor with the turbo kit already installed. Driving with the TPC Racing Turbo around town is a pleasure. The throttle inputs are as smooth as stock, but with a much broader power band, allowing the car to pull hard from almost any RPM. The power feeds on quickly but smoothly as you give the car more throttle, and will absolutely scream all the way to redline when pushed! This is the way these cars should have come from the factory.

Next dyno is a comparison between a stock Boxster Spyder (Cayman S) vs 3.8 X51 (GTS) Spyder vs 3.4 Turbo Spyder
