The side scoop is a big win for me, and those rims in the original pics are awesome. I've always liked the Boxster, and this one's just better.

Autocar New Boxster First Ride

New Boxster is coming close. Some pictures and Verdict from Autocar.

"All-new Boxster is wider, longer and more powerful Gets 7-spd manual 'box, electro-mechanical steering"

"What impressed most about the new Porsche Boxster, was the ability of it to carry big speeds through corners withou needing to check progress, such is the fluidity and neutrality inherent in the new chassis. It’s hard to say whether it improves on the outgoing model in terms of handling, but in isolation it is hints at greatness.

If you’re searching for a more definitive verdict you’ll have to wait until we get to drive the new Boxster for ourselves. The crucial thing is that despite the changes in character, the new model appears to retain all the crucial traits that have made it such a exciting car to drive up until now, and that also goes for the sound of its new engines, which continue to growl with the same familiar tone and ferocity as before."

Wait I'm confused. So is Porsche giving out rides in the 981 as they did back a few months ago in the 991?

Yes. And I guess that we will also see many photos that are taken during tests like 991. This time we know the final shape (at least we think that we know with those pictures) but of course camouflage will be there because it is standard before the introduction.

But this time they're doing it in San Francisco... On the Golden Gate bridge. Talk about begging for attention!

I bet that special track they had built in Santa Barbara might be used again soon enough...for the Boxster and then for the Cayman.

They are stating it's 4 cylinder Turbo. Very doubtful.
But the photos are just great. Seems it's only days until we see it revealed completely.
