Side intake slots are soo much better than on previous generations. Finally doesn't look cheap.

Yeah Yeah Yeah...I know. I'm wondering how much variation there will be. I bet the CGT influence will work better in the Boxster/Cayman than the 991. What would be totally sweet is a Beechwood gift knob like the CGT.

Can't be. I'm confident the new Boxster's interior will be dramatically different than the 991's.

The air conditioning vents on the Boxster are slim rectangles that reach vertically into the dashboard as opposed to the 991's, which reach out horizontally. If you look closely enough at the photos of the car's rear, you can see the sport chrono clock embedded in between the two vents.

I think the car will get a shorter/redesigned version of the rising center console due to smaller cabin space, with the screen directly below the air vents and the requisite multitude of buttons below and slanting toward the driver.

Can't be long before we see the 981. I heard rumors of a debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show but I think the car will be unveiled at Detroit in January 2012 [harking back to the original Boxster concept in 1993] or Geneva in March 2012.

Be all the confident you want. For two chassis generations the mid engines mimic the bigger brother - 911's interior.

But I home I'm wrong- I'd like to see more uniquness accross the line.

Here is a spyshot pic of the dash plus a very quick PS I did showing how the car will look with the top up.

Nice car. If you can't afford a 911 this would certainly fit the "fun" factor pretty nicely.
