Anyhow, just like I suspected it will be HOT, feel glad I was telling friends I would not go 991. Keeping my 997 GT3 and getting one of these new 987 replacements to keep her company

 

I like the wheels, not sure about the roll hoops or strakey-bits over the tail lights.

Far less ghey than the current boxster.

How is this "over designed" not a whole lot changed...

 

I doubt any Spyder owner is going to be pissed off that he bought one of these cars (less than 2000 produced by PAG and sold worldwide) of a model that is quite rare even compared to the more numerous gt3's or RS's of recent vintage. First of all, the Spyder is much more that its good looks - it is the culmination of highest achievement in chassis development on the 987 platform. Second, if history is our guide, Porsche will not roll out its most sporting variants of this new 981 platform for years to come.

If and when that ultimate 981 arrives, us current Spyder owners will have already had 3 or 4 years of enjoyment of our extremely capable and unique looking model (which may someday achieve 'classic' status). It looks a lot more aggressive than the outgoing car. I like it a lot. It doesn't look like Porsche took an evolutionary design here. Looks almost completely new, and I'm okay with that! It reminds me a bit of the Bluesport which is a great looking car.

Things I don't like are the headlights and ride height, but that isn't really important because I'm sure the headlights will look good from other angles, and when the ride headlight is lowered, the entire car will look 100x better.

The spoiler looks little bit weird over the taillights but the rest is simply stunning. Love it!
