3.8 X51 Swap, PCCB Master Cylinder, 3rd Radiator

Back in November Porsche was running crazy specials on Remanufactured engines (cheap and no core charge). I jumped at the opportunity and had Napleton put in a 3.8 X51 engine. The engine I bought was actually a Tiptronic engine but after consulting with Napleton they told me they could get it to work.

Also added were an underdrive pulley, Softronic 3.8 X51 Cayman Flash, 3rd Radiator, and PCCB Master Brake Cylinder. Car feels amazing. Super fast and pulls very hard. Sounds great with my Capristo Exhaust and Sharkwerks LWFW.

My old 3.4 engine that has now been sold had all the oiling mods (TTP, sump extension, VOS). I was a bit concerned about my new 3.8 needing the same stuff. Talking to Napleton and Softronic, I decided that all the 3.4 oiling band-aids were not necessary as the 3.8 has superior internal oiling.

Brake Pedal feels very nice now too. Anyone concerned with a mushy brake pedal should get a PCCB master cylinder. Pedal is rock solid now.

I think I am done as far as mods are concerned, last thing will be an interseries wing when track season starts. I need to break in the new engine a bit and will post some vids after it gets warmer outside.

How much did you pay for the engine?

Very nice. You're one of the few with an engine swap in one of these cars. Congrats.

What livery did you get for the interseries?

With the new engine that car would not be eligible for that Cayman series, (nor any Cayman series). But it does seem completely eligible for some fantastic track fun!

Great project!

Cost of the engine was $11,500 and I did NOT have to pay a core charge (normally 7-8K.). Chicago just got hit with tons of snow, will post some vids once the weather gets decent. Thanks.

Liveries as far as I know are only for Gen II Interseries Carsm mine is a Gen I. I have pretty much all the interseries susp stuff. Can't wait to let it rip on the track this season.
