Introduction: Bought myself a 30th birthday gift... Traded in my s4; very sad to see her go...I owned my b5 s4 for 6 years and loved every one of them. The torque from the stage 2 was addictive, she pulled strong, and the turbos were in great shape when I let her go with 122k miles. She will be missed, but I was ready for something newer.
After searching for quite a while, I've had my eye on everything from Audi S5's, S4's, e92 m3's, c63's, rs4's, but ultimately, my heart was won over and it wasn't even close.
I went with a 2006 Seal Grey Metallic Porsche Cayman S as a 30th birthday gift to myself.

I can't stop smiling when I drive and I can't stop staring when it's parked. With SoCal as a backdrop, every time I get out of the car seems like a potential photo opp.
The sound is fantastic and the car fits like a glove. My father owned many older air-cooled 911s and gave me some good fatherly advice: if you've worked hard enough to put yourself in a position to own a Porsche, do it. But a warning, it will be very difficult to go back to 'normal' cars.
I truly get it now...there is no substitute. Glad to be part of the family!
