Going topless in a TPC Racing 987Turbo
This nice little 987 Boxster S 3.2L came to us from our friends to the north, in Canada. Again, another driver in search of more power than standard bolt-on parts can provide, turned to us to satisfy his horsepower needs. With over 100lb/ft of torque available across the usable RPM range, this quiet humble Boxster has been transformed into a vicious street fighter!

The view from the top of the engine bay. You can see the TPC Racing Intake Plenum and the red silicone intake tube. Also, the necessary cross bracing to ensure that there are never any boost leaks! The TPC Racing 987 Turbo Kit maintains the factory airbox, with some modification, to make sure the car always has fresh, cool air for maximum power!

In this picture you can see the kit really coming together. The exhaust manifolds have been bolted up, and the turbocharger and bracket are in place. The Liquid-to-Air Intercooler has also been positioned. It will effectively cool the intake charge air using it's own dedicated coolant and front mount radiator system.

With the car nearing completion, the Liquid-to-Air Intercooler was hooked up, filled, and tested. The muffler was positioned giving the car it's signature TPC Racing 987Turbo exhaust tips. Also the included wastegate was installed as well as the remaining oil lines, silicone tubes, and other misc hardware. This 987Turbo Boxster is ready for the dyno!

Time to hit the dyno and go for a test drive!
Now this is a great improvement over stock! With an additional 115whp and 105lb/ft of torque, this 3.2L 987 Boxster has more low end pull than a GT3 With over 100lb/ft of torque across the usable RPM range, this little 3.2L Boxster has the pull of a V8!

Nice gains, would love to see an a/f ratio as well. I dont like the Turbo S logo on the rear. Is this the highest kit available for the Boxster/Cayman ? Cant a 3.8L be insterted in the boxster/Caymand install a turbo on top of that.

We have over 150 of these systems currently running in the world... A lot of them are running in high stress situations such as track DEs/enduros. Some clients have over 50k street miles as well. We run the cars at a very low boost level.
MM: I will get a dyno w/AF on it ASAP.

All of our turbo kits can be upgraded to our Stage2 Package, which include larger TPC Racing S2 Turbocharger, TPC Racing 987 Race Headers, Electronic Boost Controller, and TPC Racing Routine Programming with handheld switcher. We have not yet installed an S2 upgrade package on a 3.2L Boxster yet, however on 3.4L cars, performance is increase from 400whp all the way up to 477whp on race fuel. However, you are correct; a 3.8L motor can be swapped and turbocharged. We have done this before with results of over 500whp!
Here is one of the cars that has had this done....It is perhaps the most bad-ass Cayman ever built!
