Thanks to all for the kind and positive comments. I DO need a new avatar
DJ?
When I was running in a 25 minute session on the last day doing a lead/follow with a friend in his GT3RS and me in Spyder, as I recall we were only passed by an Evo and a guy in a race-prepped S2000 who was driving very aggressively and spun a few turns later. So while not having the HP to keep up and pass the GT3's (320 vs 450), I wasn't so slow they were lapping me 10 times per session either.
Some guys had some very modded C2S and C4S and they were very fast.
I was running 1:45-1:46's and well driven, race tired, race suspension GT3's/911's were running 1:40-1:41. Now I could fairly easily pass Cayman/Boxsters/ with mods and 911's that were stock. And less well driven GT3's.
JCay (who is a very nice guy in person) was still learning the track and has some suspension work and was running 1:45/1:46/1:47
I could have run better times but I am fighting massive understeer which is destroying my front tires and am struggling to get help from the aftermarket sway bar vendor to fix it. When I get that plow dialed out, and I will one way or another, the car will definitely pick up the pace.
Bottom line, against stock Boxster/Cayman, no problem to post faster times. Stock 997, no problem. 997.2 are close match. Modded stuff will be faster. For an essentially stock car off the showroom, it is very well mannered and no scary moments at all.
Also, I am leaving some time on the table as I have to drive the car 5 hours home. If I go offtrack, and break it, then I am SOL.
