Will be at Laguna Seca July 9/10/11 with SpeedVentures so will have a track report after with regard to the new wheels. It would be great to meet any TS'ers in the paddock? Friday/Sunday I will be in a garage, Saturday in the open paddock.

The Spyder is such an agile car with steel brakes and OE wheels, but the lighter weight from PCCB and forged alloy wheels sharpens the handling dynamics that much more. The whole point of reducing unsprung weight is to allow the suspension to work better and keep the tires in contact with the road.

Several weeks ago at Thunderhill I was only four seconds off the pace of a 2010 GT3RS (stock) driven by a very skilled driver. That is a testament to the potential of the Spyder.

And I would love to dyno it, as I think the power to the rear wheels is under-rated by the factory. Aside from full-on GT3's and Cup cars, not much will pull away on a straight.

I need to weigh the stock wheels which I have not yet been able to do as they still have other tires on them. I thought I read somewhere the Spyder style OE wheel was 23lbs f and 26lbs rear, but wish someone could fact-check me on that. So if correct, then 17(2)+18(2)= 70 lbs vs 23(2)+26(2)=98lbs is 70lbs vs 98lbs and a 28lbs unsprung weight/rotating mass savings plus another 35lbs or so for PCCB brakes.

That is huge.

These wheels are size/offset/lighening/finish to my personal spec from AMT Forged Alloys. One of the strongest, yet lightest wheels in the world.

Yeah, I was kind of stringing everyone along as to manufacturer...lol . Mike Burroughs is the man to order them from, he runs the company. Contact him directly at: mike@forgedalloysusa.com

The good news is the pricing is compelling. The bad news is you must plan at least 3 months to be delivered. Like anything of the highest quality, it is worth the wait.

Have a set of centerlocks about to be delivered for my RS as well.
Pete,
Thanks for the kind words. Your car looks great. I am looking forward to hearing about the post-race impression with the lighter wheels.

Your Centerlocks have shipped! Can't wait to see those in action!

We now have the delivery time down to 7-8 weeks and hope to be at 5-6 weeks by the end of July. Pete got the very first set of Boxster wheels with the Pro Lightening option. His GT3RS centerlocks have them as well.

Contact me if you need wheels for Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes AMG cars or GT-R. That's our focus at the moment.
Website update in progress.

Thank you for the awesome wheels Mike!

Those of you who are serious about your wheel's look and performance, Mike will work with you on the ultimate set-up for your situation and he knows his business- very technically oriented. And you are dealing direct with the manufacturer.

The pro-lightening is a unique look and not everyone will care for it. Same with black anodized. But those result in greatest weight savings. Mike has a lot of other spec's available.

And for those who care, these wheels are 100% TUV compliant. Absolutely track load rated for the specific car. We retain the OE TPMS sensor in the original position as well. Just bolt 'em in.

what an awesome ride....congrats!

Could you do a direct comparison to your GT3 in terms of handling, throttle response..body roll, understeer oversteer, steering response and feel etc ?

those wheels are great and incredibly light!
