Tubi Exhaust on 2009 Cayman S DFI with PDK
#1
Hey guys,
Just wanted to share this with you since it's a pretty new setup: the Tubi exhaust for 2009 Cayman S models with DFI / PDK. A customer picked up this Cayman S in Texas and had it shipped directly to our facility for a handful of upgrades before he even saw the car, including EVOMSit software and the Tubi exhaust.
This is the first Tubi we've installed on a 2009 Cayman, and as you'll see it's a bit different than previous generations:

Off comes the big old stock unit:

The Tubi fits great, very nice compared to some exhausts we've tried:

And a quick video:

One thing to note about this car was its lack of "Sport Chrono" option, even though it is an S model with PDK. This means the car does not have a Sport or Sport Plus transmission mode. This makes the PDK a lot less aggressive / fun than with the option, and with lower RPM / shift points, the exhaust is less exotic and ends up being lower pitch than with those modes.
If you buy a PDK Cayman, make sure you opt for Sport Chrono to unlock the great features of the PDK transmission! Hopefully we'll have a 6-speed or PDK Sport Chrono to test with this Tubi later, but so far the consensus is that the exhaust is lower-pitched and quieter overall than the previous generation when installed on this car.
