Mine was built on the 987.1 Keeping the Cayman headlights can certainly be done. You save the cost of the new headlights but it would add a bit of time to modify the fenders and the bumper cover to match since we built it around the 997 headlights. It really turns out a wash in regards to cost.

Body wise we should be able to build it on the 987.2 if you really want since there weren't any real changes to the body, though that would mean you stay with the 3.4 for now as the engine (until the 3.8 swap is figured out for the new motor, should be easy though) AND TPC hasn't released their turbo for the new DFI motors yet either.

If you're really interested and have the budget then I can get it done. Shoot me a PM and we can discuss offline.

Can't believe I didn't see this until now. Great build, Itmerc? Did you document the intermediate stages?

To some extent yes. I have a lot of pics from the development and build process. I also ran a thread over on the Caymanclub site (now planet 9). This thread came later.

Hi Casey, Its supposed to be in Performance Auto and Sound once I get it back from Patrick. He's redoing the fill-in on the roof rails and touching up the paint where some of the clear coat came off a rocker panel when we peeled off the wrap at SEMA. I hope to have it back the firrst week of April.
The 18" CCW track wheels (C10's) are also being made while its there. It looks like 265's on the front and 335's on the rear will fit with no issues, Toyo R888's at Mikes suggestion.
As soon as it gets back to Houston the shop I'm working with here is putting on the new front hats and 360mm racing rotors we're getting from Porsche Motorsports. To stop the pads from rubbing on the mounting hardware of the current hats they shimmed the GT3 cup calipers out just a bit and the larger outer diameter rotor will fill out the calipers so the pads sweep correctly. Easy fix, just got delayed till everyone finished dealing with Sebring. They talked to TPC about the issue and the fix.

Unfortunately no. The shape of the fenders etc isn't right for the 997.2 tail lights unless you do what I did... Reshape the fenders and extend the rear end by about 5" and make a custom rear bumper cover.
