The $70K Hyundai reminds me of the 2003 VW Phaeton and the 1986 Acura Legend, just to name two examples. At the time, nobody thought a uberexpensive VW or Honda would work. The Honda was rebadged (and Acura created), and it was a smash hit. The VW was not.

Only time will tell if the emergence of Hyundai is permanent, but they seem to have the right business plan these days.

I'll let you in on a secret: Hyundai/Kia is THE fastest growing Automaker in the US. Even if you're a 'who's who' of business with millions in your pocket, you are NOT acquiring a Hyundai franchise. They'll laugh at you.


People who should have gotten a franchise should have done so years ago. Now it's existing dealers who are allowed to expand.


Hyundai dealership = ATM.
