I think the platform is completely changed though.

The single round headlights up front and the pronounced bootlid at the back that apes Bentleys and Rollers of the 50's and sixties, the way too fat, way too far back c-pillar, a steering wheel styled by Fischer-Price and those gauges, with the needles going clockwise from the one o' clock position, just turns this into a clown car. It even looks like a grinning Japanese cartoon fish from a front 3/4 view.

I disagree with PatrickHenry's contention that a gentleman's car never is groundbraking. The DB9 was groundbreaking for Aston Martin, both in terms of design and technology, and that's not exactly what you'd call a rapper's car. I think that a gentleman's car should be one of restrained elegance and superior poice. This is just restrained glue-sniffing and superior idiocy in the styling department. It somehow manages to keep several design elements from the Arnage - for example the plank-of-wood dashboard - and thus be conservative and just not feeling new, while at the same time adding several new elements that just look bizarre.

Anyway, that's just my opinion, and it it's completely irrelevant, since I'm not going to rush out and spend 600.000 Euros on a car any time soon....

First time I saw a profile shot of the new Mulsanne my first thought was "It looks like a four door Brooklands."

Yea I just don't know. Does anyone have the final price numbers? In a car like that I would only be driven never drive and I think because of that I would have to lean towards a Maybach. This is of course assuming they are in the same price range. If I was in a situation where I didn't want to be driven around the brooklands is wayyyy better in terms of everything imo.

I've heard price will be in the same range as the new RR Ghost: $250K to $300K. The new Mulsanne is definitely not trying to go head to head with the RR Phantom Saloon. The RR Ghost and Mulsanne are about the same size and basically aimed at the same clientele. If Bentley wants to build a Phantom fighter, they need put the one-off State limo they did for the queen into production.
