Bentley Releases First Bio-Fuel Concept Car Teaser Image
#1
Bentley will use the Geneva Motor Show to debut a new Continental based concept which will feature a bio-fuel compatible engine. Little is known about the concept as details will be released closer to it's auto show debut but what we do know is that it will be the company's fastest and most powerful car to date. From the single teaser image it is clear that car is built around the Continental GT or Flying Spur and it will feature several minor exterior tweaks such as a new front bumper with larger air intakes, hood vents, and darkened grille inserts and headlight trim.
Judging by the fact that Bentley's most power model is the Continental GT Speed with 600bhp and 750Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque expect the new concept to offer a slight improvement over those numbers as well as a top speed greater than 202mph (326km/h) and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of less than 4.3 seconds. The greatest change should come in terms of reduced emissions and improved fuel economy, currently the GT Speed produces a hefty 396g/km of CO2 and has a combined cycle fuel rating of 17.0mpg (16.6 litres/100km).
The company announced their plans for a bio-fuel future at the North American International Auto in Detroit by stating that in 2012 their entire model range would be bio-fuel capable.

I must say this new front bumper is amazing looking

Front bumper looking great.
Good idea also about making this concept. Bentley sales are dropped harder that other luxury brands sales and they need to do something to improve the situation.

This car will produce 621 horsepower, go 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, top 200 mph and be able to run on gas or E85. It will also be 224 pounds lighter (4%) than the Speed GT. Bentley says that the ability to deliver huge performance on flex fuel sends a strong "green message". The message isn't about higher gas milage, but rather much lower carbon emissions. The car will be a two-seater with the rear area configured with a luggage-carrying upholstered shelf instead of seats. The two front seats are styled much like racing seats with carbon fiber backs, and exaggerated bolsters.
Limited availability is supposed to be the draw to the car, along with the E85 capability. We'll be able to submit orders this April and the cars will arrive in October.

sounds awesome, glad they aren't pushing fuel economy... that wouldn't make sense.
